PHP is currently the most common language for html developer. This has not always been the case. Previously, html developers were preferring Dotnet and Java.
PHP has undergone several phases of development: PHP 4 was a procedural language (everything had to be coded) then with the advent of PHP 5 object modules can be used.
THE PHP can be used in three different situations:
- Without Framework (environment)
- Under a proprietary framework (created by the developer)
- Under an Open Source framework (Zend, Symfony, CakePHP, codelgniter)
In this sub-environment of Open Source, PHP developer can implement CMS (content management system): Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, SPIP, Magento and Prestashop.
The PHP developer often uses a set of free software such as LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), MAMP (Mac, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and WAMP (Window, Apache, MySQL, PHP) to build a site.
The PHP scripting language allows the generation of dynamic web pages and communicating with the MySQL server.
